I’m a product designer, prototyper, and lifelong learner.

Hello! I’m a product designer, prototyper, and lifelong learner.

I cut my teeth at consultancies like Pentagram and Frog, where I worked on a then new trading floor device called the IPC IQ/MAX—a success, with a 65% first year adoption rate and $36M in revenue in the first quarter of its 2006 release.

As a designer who codes, I wrote the ink engine of the popular drawing app Paper by FiftyThree, which won Apple’s App of the Year Award in 2012. I’d previously shipped my own drawing app, Vellum, on iPhone OS in 2009. Microsoft consequently hired me to work on Courier, a before-iPad tablet that put drawing and writing at the center of its UX.

More recently, I was a Principal Designer at Microsoft, where I quietly executed the company’s mission of helping people achieve more, while advancing our progress toward a future where intelligent assistants help you do your best work.

I have BA degrees in Computer Science, Economics, and Psychology from Rutgers College. I studied design at Interaction Design Institute Ivrea in Italy. My collaborations with Amy Franceschini of Futurefarmers have been exhibited at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts and the Venice Biennale.
